Organising Committee
Welcome to the Queensland Music Education Conference (QMEC). QMEC strives to enhance the musical and teaching skills of music educators across Australia. The conference provides the vital space for fellow music educators, visionary speakers, industry leading retailers and innovative music companies to share powerful insights and explore the latest developments in music education.
After the success of QMEC 2025 we are delighted to announce QMEC 2027 planning is in the works. This event will be delivered by Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), in partnership with the Queensland Department of Education.
The next conference will take place in July 2027 in Brisbane/Meanjin and whilst we begin to build the program, we promise you can look forward to a diverse array of workshops, presentations, and performances by leading professionals and academics in the field. You can expect:
- Practical sessions with world-class clinicians
- One-on-one conductor tutorials and global keynote insights
- The opportunity to play in pedagogy and performance ensembles
- A dynamic community with 400 + like-minded music educators to network with
- Social events such as our Conference Dinner and Gala Concert
- Front-row access to the latest releases in books, music tech and much more at the Trade Exhibition
